Mark Middlewick is a filmmaker from South Africa.
Mark graduated with Honours in Dramatic Art from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. After completing his studies he taught screenwriting and film theory before traveling to Los Angeles where he worked as a script reader.
His breakout short film ‘Security’, made in association with Focus Features' Africa First Program, screened at numerous film festivals around the world. His most recent short film ‘The Mascot’ starred Oscar award-winning actor Adrien Brody and was produced by Trigger Street Productions.
Mark has participated in the Berlinale Talents Program and subsequently acted as a mentor for the short film lab at Talents Durban (in association with Berlinale Talents).
Mark is also a celebrated music video director. His video ‘Fog’, for SAMA award winning musician Nakhane, was nominated for ‘Most Beautiful Object In South Africa’ at the Design Indaba.
